Bajaj,Renault,Nissan Still Together For Low Cost Car
The speculation still lingers about the Bajaj-Renault-Nissan tie-up to bring out the ultra-low cost car. The tie-up had made headlines last year and everyone was looking forward to the end product of the companies.
It was reported though that the three manufacturers split ways but Bajaj clearly denies the claim and says that the tie-up stands strong and went on to say that, “We can fulfil our mutual objective through a simple original equipment manufacturer (OEM) arrangement and without the need to necessarily create a new corporate entity in the form of a joint venture.”
Ashish Sinharoy, VP- Communications, Renault, too confirmed saying that,” It is not a rumour, it is plain misinterpretation. There is no such break-up and the individual companies have already sorted out the duties on November 2009. It was made clear then that Bajaj would take care of manufacturing and sourcing for the car and Renault-Nissan will look after marketing and branding in India and overseas.”
The ultra-low cost car certainly seems to have gotten into a lot of speculations and back and forth already, but with confirmations from the two sides, the making of the car certainly is a possibility.
